Executive Search Leader Hosts First Global Conference Since COVID-19

Maneesh Ajmani, Chairman of the leading global executive search firm Horton International, welcomed partners to the organisation’s first in-person global conference since the pandemic. Held in Dubai, the conference was designed around a highly fitting theme: Building To Last.

“So much has transpired over these past two years, in our personal lives and in the world around us. It was a welcome change to meet the partners face to face and share our lived experiences. These in-person interactions make us who we are as a firm. Large enough to matter and small enough to care,” Maneesh Ajmani, Chairman, Horton International

There was an exciting buzz in the group with new ideas, business development plans, and concepts to build a stronger brand, all with one common goal in mind: to continue to add value and be relevant to our clients. Following two very challenging years that prevented in-person collaboration, the conference allowed for partners from all around the globe to get together, share their experiences, and once again work closely to create a stronger, more powerful service offering for clients.

Horton International is firmly committed to building inspiring teams to ensure organisations can fully benefit from a people-centric approach.

The conference was packed with insightful sessions, marketing and branding discussions, new partner introductions, and informative talks from external speakers keen to share their own insights and unique perspectives.

The first day of the conference involved discussions around group strategy, facilitated by external strategy consultants . The session was both engaging and thought provoking, and provided partners with numerous opportunities to reflect on how the search business has evolved in recent years and delve deeper into how Horton International can evolve into becoming an even stronger and more relevant brand in the industry.

On day two, partners had the pleasure of hearing from external speakers on how private enterprise in the Middle East was gearing up for the changing economic environment. We also heard from a well-known global economist on how individual economies in the Middle East and Africa region were performing in light of the global geo-political developments.

The conference was also a fantastic opportunity for some of Horton International’s newest Managing Partners to introduce themselves face-to-face. Erik Vian (Vietnam), Peter Radlingmayr (Austria), Mafer Garibay (Mexico). And virtually, Yan Sen Lu (Japan), Fabio Salomon (Brazil), and Tom Keane, Luke Freeley, and Sean McDonagh (Ireland). All were warmly welcomed to their first Horton global conference.

“We are delighted that even through these tumultuous couple of years, the Horton International family has continued to grow. We have welcomed such wonderful new partner firms from all over the world, all of whom I truly believe share our values and are poised for great success and international collaboration. It was incredible to have so many of them joining us in person in Dubai, and as a result, we’re already seeing strong relationships forming and business further developing between our global partners.” Gemma Van RooyenDirector of Global Programs, Horton International

Over the past two years, Horton International has prioritised the importance of maintaining connections in a disconnected world, collaborating, and keeping in touch with partners virtually. However, the team has long believed in-person interactions and connections to be key to success, and the Dubai conference was a long overdue opportunity to once again get together.

The conference provided a much-needed space for partners to share their personal experience over the past couple of years and build upon and deepen their connections with other members of the group, both on a personal and business level. From discussions and expert-led talks to informal chats over dinner and a chance to enjoy the wonderful hospitality in Dubai, the team were thrilled to finally spend some quality time together after such a long break, and those who couldn’t be in Dubai in person were very much missed.
