Gary Woollacott is the Managing Partner of Horton International Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. He has worked extensively in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), assisting clients in Financial Services and Manufactoring businesses, as well as across several other important sectors. His executive search work in those areas has encompassed management levels from middle to senior, including some interesting and challenging market entry situations that involved looking for a candidate to establish an office and be the pioneer of a new country venture. Thailand and Vietnam are also hosting growing fintech and digital sectors and this has provided much of Gary’s exposure to these exciting businesses.
Prior to his career in executive search, he was an investment banker in London (Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers and Sheppards & Chase) and Sydney (Australian Stock Exchange). Gary moved to Thailand and the executive search industry in 1995, initially working for another international search group. He has been part of Horton International since the early 2000s and now leads the GMS practice.
Gary has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Westminster (when it was the Polytechnic of Central London) and a Master of Science in Financial Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
